Who it suits
Mondorf-les-Bains, in the far south near the French border, is built around a warm mineral spring discovered in 1841. The Mondorf Domaine Thermal has indoor and outdoor thermal pools, saunas and treatments, and the town's other pull is Casino 2000, the country's biggest casino with attached restaurants and a live-music venue.
It doesn’t suit anyone under 30 looking for lively nightlife — the town's evening scene is calm outside the casino. It also doesn’t suit anyone who doesn’t intend to use the spa; there isn’t much else to do.
Price and package thinking
The Mondorf Parc Hotel is the main property, integrated with the spa; rooms with spa access run 150-230 EUR. A couple of smaller hotels and B&Bs offer 100-140 EUR options.
